ADUM BANSO TOWNSHIP
I’m not a millionaire yet and I don’t believe you have to own millions to be a blessing to others. Throughout my life, I have found various avenues to bless humanity in prayer, words and also in kind. One of my latest goals is to help the township of Adum Banso. You’re probably wondering what solar system is this town on aren’t you? Well, let me tell you a little story…
Adum Banso is a small town located in the Southwestern part of Ghana, West Africa. My matrilineal family is the ruling traditional government of this town, a.k.a. monarchy in modern English. Nothing as glorious or fancy as the British monarchy so don’t raise your hopes here. My uncle is the sitting traditional chief (King) and has been ruling for the last 50 years. The last time I visited the town was in 1994 when my grandmother passed away. It’s the hard truth and I hope you appreciate my honesty here. Lately, a burden has been placed on my heart to bless this my hometown, give back to the people who give so much but get little in return.
During the COVID pandemic, I had 1000+ cloth face masks made and distributed to them. I also helped with some items for the only community clinic. In September 2020, I sent out an email to the Stonegate Community where I live, asking for used toys and clothing to send to my hometown (Adum Banso). My neighbors’ generosity was overwhelming and by the grace of God the items arrived safely and the children did enjoy being recipients of these gracious items. I continue to receive used clothing which I pack up and ship to them from time to time.
When I received some pictures from the team who delivered the items, I was heartbroken to see the state of the ONLY school in the town and the ONLY health center. It’s really nothing to write home about. I am determined to help them renovate/remodel the school facility and health center. Please see the current images below.
